How do I purchase a ticket?

Purchase Online
You can purchase tickets through our website and print your tickets from the convenience of your home or office.* Just bring your ticket and a photo ID before you depart, and you’re good to go!

Purchase Tickets at One of Our Agencies
Tickets may be purchased at many of our stops and terminals. Please visit our Location or Route pages for details or contact us for more information. We accept Cash, Visa and MasterCard. We also accept debit cards issued/funded by your employer for travel as long as it has a Visa or MasterCard logo on it.

** Printed tickets must be presented to the driver. If you are unable to print your ticket, please allow time to purchase a ticket at one of our agencies

Reservation Policies

Boston Express Bus does not accept reservations.

Please arrive at least 15–30 minutes before your bus is scheduled to depart. Seating is on a first-come, first-board basis. Every effort will be made to accommodate all passengers during peak travel times.

Tickets may be purchased in advance but do not guarantee a seat. Our tickets are not time or date-specific to allow you to travel whenever it’s convenient for you. When purchasing a ticket online, we ask that you print your ticket for the driver to expedite the boarding process.

Ages 15 & Younger

  •  *One child aged 15 and under rides free per each adult.
  • Children 15 and younger must be accompanied by an adult passenger purchasing a full-fare ticket (one-way, round-trip or same-day ticket only).
  • Additional children 15 or younger are eligible for a child fare ticket, which is half of the applicable adult fare.
  • Free child rides tickets would not apply when adult is purchasing any of our discounted tickets. This includes commuter passes, monthly passes, student, military and half-fare tickets.
  • There is no child discount on a same-day return ticket (child fare would be half of the regular adult round-trip fare).
  • Children ages 8-15 who travel alone in accordance with the Unaccompanied Children policy pay the adult fare.
  • Valid only to/from Boston Express locations (Manchester, North Londonderry, Londonderry, Salem, Nashua and Tyngsboro) servicing Boston’s South Station and Logan Airport.

When traveling with children, you are welcome to store strollers and/or car seats under the bus in the luggage bay for later use in your trip. These items do not count toward your luggage allowance.

Refunds / Cancellations

In-Person Ticket Purchase:

Boston Express Bus tickets purchased in-person at a terminal are eligible for refund as long as the ticket is still valid and has not expired. Tickets marked “No Refund” or purchased with a paid ticket order (PTO) or voucher are not refundable.

Partial refunds are available if you have purchased a Boston Express Bus round-trip ticket and only used one-way. In this case, we can refund the remaining ticket for the value of the original purchase less the one-way fare. Your original receipt is needed, as well as the credit card authorization slip if your ticket was purchased with a credit card. Refunds purchased with a credit card are credited back to the card used for the purchase.

Online Tickets:

Unused online tickets from Boston Express Bus that have not expired are eligible for refund. If you have purchased a Boston Express Bus round-trip ticket and only used it one-way, we can refund the remaining ticket for the value of the original purchase less the one-way fare. The refund process takes approximately 5-10 business days and the amount of the refund will be credited back to the account used for the purchase. Refund requests can be made by calling our Information Center at 1-800-639-8080 (TTY Relay: 711 or 1-800-735-2964) or contacting us via email.  Please include your order confirmation number for reference.

Greyhound Tickets:

For all Greyhound ticket purchases, you must contact Greyhound Bus Lines for a refund. Our Manchester and Nashua terminals can sell Greyhound tickets as a convenience for the passenger but any and all refunds must be done through Greyhound directly. If you believe that you hold a Greyhound ticket, please contact Greyhound at 1-800-231-2222 for refund information
